Yukyung Yeo
Professor of Political Science, Kyung Hee University
I am a Professor of Political Science at Kyung Hee University's Department of International Studies. My research interests lie in the Chinese political economy and its influence on global governance and the international political economy. I explore how China’s securitization of its economy affects regional and global rules and norms. In the era of economic security, I examine how the United States and China influence each other, shaping regime change. I also study how South Korea can strengthen the resilience of its supply chains in key strategic sectors.
I previously served as an Assistant Professor at the City University of Hong Kong (2009–2011) and as a Research Fellow at the same institution (2007–2009). More recently, I was a Visiting Scholar at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University (2021–2022) and a Visiting Fellow at the East-West Center, University of Hawai‘i (2022).
Since August 2025, I have been serving as an Associate Editor of the Australian Journal of International Affairs. I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Maryland, College Park (2007), an M.A. in International Relations from Seoul National University (2000), and a B.A. in Political Science and Diplomacy from Sookmyung Women’s University (1997).
